Treatment Idea's

This is all of the Treatment Idea's that my group have presented to the rest of our class. (Except for Demi's because she was on Holiday!) Below are recording's of our film treatment's.


As a group we re-watched our film treatment Idea's to re-fresh our memories and wrote down a few idea's that would eventually be the layout of our final film idea, allowing us to make into a short. We took idea's from each others treatments, for inspiration. Each treatment idea had some good and bad points to it, so we as a group wrote down these good and bad point's and agreed which we preferred and came up with a draft version for our final film short.

These are the initial idea's that my group and I thought of and use in our final film short idea.


1) Have Josh's main character (Chris) wake up in the morning, fall out of bed, try to find the alarm clock and it falls on his head, gets up and gets dressed in smart clothes i.e. a shirt and trousers.


2) He exits his bedroom and goes to another bedroom where his mother(Rose) (who is not very well) is and checks to see if she is okay.


3) He goes down stairs and makes breakfast for himself and
his mother.


4) Runs late for work and quickly gets inside his car and drives off. When he arrives at work he runs across the car park to his work, gets to his office where his boss (Mr. Fischer) tells him off.


5) The man's mother is up and dressed and sorting herself out and goes into the garden and does some weeding and planting.


6) The mother accidentally stabs herself with a rose thorn and becomes very weak, she holds the rose and blood drips from her hand to the floor.


7) She collapses to the ground, moments later the man comes home and sees her lying on the floor.


He rushes over to her but it is too late and holds her in his arms as she slowly passes away.


8) He places the rose across her chest with her arms across the top of the rose.


We will take these ideas, re-fine them and make the important notes stand out more than the less important notes and our group can look back on these to make sure we are on track.

My Group

This is my group, which I am apart of until the end of the course.


I have linked every member of the group together, so I can view there progress as individual members.
The reason for me posting my group members is because it is important for people to see my contribution as well as my other group members contributions and how we class our information plus our account of the session and time we spend together.

What is a Film Short?

What is a film short?

A film short is a short film that can last for a maximum of 40 minutes. Any time over that 40 minutes is classed as a feature film. They can be filmed by professionals, like Pixar, who made there famous short "One man Band" film or like Amateur film makers that create short films like "The Black Hole". 


The film short itself, can be live action, animated or both put together. A film short can either have no dialogue at all or have massive amounts of dialogue. Also you can shoot a film short without a budget or with a budget, at the end of the day it is up to the producer and director how he/she wishes to set out the filming of the short.

I have posted this film short to give you an example of what a professional film short (Animation) can look like.

Future Shorts: The Black Hole;

I have posted this to show you what an amateur's film short can look like.

The Pixar film short, above, will give you an you an idea of how our final film short should look like by the end of the course and will allow you to compare between other attempts made by other production companies.
This will follow on to the 'my group' post.

Welcome

Welcome everyone to my A2 media blog. On this blog I will be posting the research and planning stages required to make a film short; our main task.


Summary of Course Requirements

• Make a short film lasting no longer than 5 minutes.
• Produce two ancillary tasks; a film poster & a magazine review of our film.

I will also post my completed products and an evaluation of the entire process. The first thing I have to do is to define a 'short' film.
