Audience Assessment questions of Draft Treatment

This is the audio recording of Binary Production's review of our treatment by the same small audience.

These are some of the points that we have thought of and how appropriate they are to our film short.

I have condesed down the answer giving a more rounded answer.

Questions asked by Binary Production's and the answer given by the audience, which we then told them our answer to the question. This is to see you our audeince resives our film.

Answer from Audience = AFA
Answer from Binary Productions = AFBP

1) What do you think our target audience is?

AFA
The film is for an older generation so 18-45 about that.

AFBP
We would say exactly the same thing, but we would class it as an 15 certification because of some of the slight gore and murders.

2) What genre do you think our film is?

AFA
Psychological thriller

AFBP
A mismatch of genres such as mutual love I.e. romance and the thriller and horror factor of the blood and the death.

Mr hood answer
It's more like a drama because it hasn't got the major blood and gore factor and there isn't a death until the end and in most physiological thrillers and horrors there are a lot of deaths and parts that make you jump, so I think that you guys and Demi, need to think about this in more detail. Not vital that we categorise it and put it into a genre, but you must find one genre which is more dominate than the others.

Skipped next question because we have already answered it.
But what I will say that we have gone against the norm for a drama by including a death.

Mr hood
There are many unanswerable question and I think that is brilliant to have in any film because it leaves the audience wanting more and think how it actually ended and it keeps them thinking, like the fact that this person has killed is own mum so you are left thinking, why would you kill your own mum?

3) What are the strong and weak aspects of our film?

AFBP
Some parts could be better.

AFA
We personally like the film idea and there is nothing to change drastically in your film because the strong points out number the bad points.

Mr Hood answer

Where you started from and where you are now is good because there are no bad points, but that doesn't say that bad points will happen along the way and I think that if filmed and edited properly this film will be amazing, because you have such a damn good starting point and a really solid story.
